Welcome to the Pennine Training Area Website

The Pennine Training Area was formed in 1960/61 as part of the Northern Golden Retriever Association. (after existing informally for 2 seasons) and all training class members must be a member of the Northern Golden Retriever Association.

The aim is to provide facilities for training gundogs of all retriever breeds in field work to enable the owners, handlers and dogs to advance in training as far as their opportunities permit.

Training classes are supervised by the Committee members.

Training classes are held regularly throughout the year and we have training grounds in the Greater Manchester and Sheffield areas.

All training equipment with the exception of a whistle and lead is provided.
